Are all of the classes hands-on?

All of our stand-alone cooking classes and weekly programs – with the exception of our Five-Course Wine Dinners and Wine Classes – involve hands-on cooking unless otherwise noted.

If I have a larger party, can I still reserve spots for a public, stand-alone class/event?

If your party has six or more guests, yes, you can still reserve spots for any recreational class or event if you do not wish to do a private party. However, we will charge your group an 18% service fee at the time of your reservation. With this in mind, it is preferred that you register your entire guest count all at once.

Are your classes kid-friendly?

We do not allow children under 13 in any of our adult classes, unless otherwise noted. If you would like to bring your child, aged 13 or older, you or a parental guardian of drinking age must accompany them, and let us know at time of booking. Certain classes are better suited for teenagers, such as stand-alone Pastry Classes and Brunches. We also offer after-school classes on Mondays at 4:00 pm. as well as Kids and Teens camps during spring breaks and summers. Please call to inquire about our Summer Camps or visit our website for more information.

What is your cancellation policy?

In case of cancellation, we must receive a minimum of 72-hour advance notice. All payments and vouchers are subject to forfeit if we do not receive 72-hour advance notice of cancellation.  In the event of cancellation of a class or program, 15% of the total cost will be retained by Classic Cooking Academy to cover administrative costs.

As of April 2021, Classic Cooking Academy will not offer full refunds for acceptable cancellations. Instead, we will hold onto the customer’s credit until they decide on attending a different class or event.

The class I wanted to register for is sold out. Is there any way that I could still attend?

If your desired class is sold out, we can always put you and your party on the wait-list for it. Simply call or email us to express your interest in doing so. Be sure to share the following information with our staff (class name, class date, your party size, your name, your phone number, your email).

Do you accommodate food allergies and/or dietary restrictions?

For stand-alone recreational classes/events, we do not accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions. If you have a condition that conflicts with a certain class’ menu, we advise you to look for and attend a separate class with a more accommodating menu. If you end up attending an event with a conflicting menu, please try to arrive as early as possible and talk to our chefs to see how well they can help you.

For privately reserved events (team buildings, private parties, business meetings, seminars), we can accommodate all allergies and dietary restrictions given prior notice. Allergies and dietary restrictions must be given at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled event.

Please note that Classic Cooking Academy is not a gluten-free facility.

Is alcohol permitted or can I bring in my own?

We offer complimentary red and white wine, along with an assortment of beer and sodas in all of our recreational cooking classes, corporate team building events, and private parties. We can also refer customers to the distributors who typically supply our wines. Liquor and hard alcohol are not served due to the nature of our events. Due to our liquor license, we cannot allow any alcohol to be brought in by our patrons.

Can I take food from one of your classes home with me?

If you’re unable to eat your meal during class, our staff can pack it up for you so you can take it with you when you leave. With regards to seconds and leftovers, we can only offer them if every other student of the class is agreeable to receiving their own seconds/leftovers.

What credit cards do you accept for payments?

We accept all major credit cards unless otherwise noted.

Do you rent out your kitchen space to outside parties?

Classic Cooking does not rent out kitchen space to outside parties for work/activities different from our own operations.

If I schedule a team building or private party, can I also bring a live band?

Unfortunately, no. Classic Cooking already provides music through our AV equipment, so you may request your preferred music through us. Live bands tend to detract the overall experience of our cooking classes. They also distract other parties if we happen to have two separate events hosted at the same time.

Do you accept vouchers as a form of payment for a class?

As of August 31s, 2020, we will no longer accept deal vouchers from third-party vendors (Groupon, TravelZoo).

Do you accept the GI Bill for classes or weekly programs?

Classic Cooking unfortunately does not accept the GI Bill for any of our classes or programs as we are not accredited with the Veterans Benefit Administration.
