 After School Cooking Classes

Six Week Session Mondays Beginning January 8th through

Students will prepare the menu and then sit down together and enjoy the fruits of their labor.  Basic as well as more advanced cooking techniques will be included for all levels of skill.  Available to ages 8-17.

24-Week Practical Series

The Practical Series offers students a rare opportunity to learn from an instructor of Chef Pascal’s unique cultural heritage and sophisticated culinary training.  Speaking five languages and having worked in high profile kitchens on several continents, Chef Pascal affords his students an incomparable culinary education.  Teaching this coursework for no less than 30 years, Chef Pascal continues to go strong as he pursues his commitment to empowering students of all skill levels to achieve greater competency and cooking potential.

12-Week Pastry Series

Dates: Wednesday evenings starting January 17th, 2018 @ 6:30 – 9:00pm

This unique pastry series is designed to teach you all about the essentials in the world of pastries.  Led by highly qualified and talented Chef Dan Boman, you will walk through essentials such as yeast and pastry doughs, quick breads, cookies, icings, chocolate tempering, individual pastries and assembled cakes only to name a few. The aroma of baking breads, the secret of the very best pastry dough for any pie or tart, decorating that special cake or plating individual desserts will make you the envy of family or friends.

Italian Wine Dinner

Date: Nov. 11th @ 5:00 – 7:30pm

Classic Cooking is pleased to be partnering with Quail Distributing, a premier distributor of fine wines, in sharing the outstanding wines of Italy during a special five-course Italian Wine Dinner on Saturday, November 11th, 2017. The evening will feature a menu prepared by Chef Pascal Dionot along with wine pairings presented by special guest and Italian Wine Ambassador, Kevin Karwowski. Please join us for what is sure to be a memorable evening.

Sunday Brunch

Date: Nov. 19th @ 10:00am – 12:30pm

Whether you’re sick of waiting in lines at packed restaurants on Sunday mornings, or would just like to learn how to properly cook an egg, our brunch classes are just what your weekend needed!  Our Chef instructor will teach you how to create a delicious brunch in this hands-on class, which you will enjoy at the end.  Learn new skills that you can adapt for your pre-work breakfasts, or to even host your own brunch at home!  Coffee and mimosas included. Perfect class to do with friends, on a date, or fun for the entire family!

Holiday Hors d’Oeuvres Class

Date: Dec. 2nd @ 12:00 – 2:30pm

Use an array of festive hors d’oeuvres to set the tone for your holiday cocktail party! Keep things playful or put a sophisticated spin on these easy yet elegant hors d’oeuvres.

Tamale Workshop

Date: Dec. 3rd @ 10:00am – 1:00pm

Join Chef Instructor Sharon Lunardi for this unique hands-on cooking class!  Sharon will teach you the basic steps to making traditional tamales, beginning with a demonstration for simple Masa doughs with variations.  Students will participate in making one type of filling.  All students will assemble two of each tamale flavor, for a total of 8 tamales per person!  The tamales will be steamed in class and served ready to eat, along with house beverages.

Buche de Noel Class

Date: Dec. 9th @ 10:00am – 12:30pm

This fanciful “Yule log” is a classic French holiday dessert!  Learn how to make the famous Buche de Noel with Chef Pascal Dionot.  He will take you step-by-step through the preparation of the sponge cake and buttercream filling, and you’ll finish your sweet roulade with marzipan and mushroom meringue decorations. At the end of class, everyone will take home their very own Yule Log!!!

Holiday Cookie Exchanges

Dates: Dec. 10th @ 10:00am – 1:00pm (Part 1); Dec. 17th @ 10:00am – 1:00pm (Part 2)

This class is a customer favorite, and sells out quickly each year! The Chef instructor will demo a variety of holiday-themed cookies. Students will each make one type of cookie during class, and an exchange will happen at the end of class! You will end up with several dozen homemade cookies to bring home to share with your family and friends.

French Wine Dinner

Date: Dec. 16th @ 5:00 – 7:30pm

How about a little romance this holiday season?  A perfect wind-down to a season fully packed with activities, people and plans.  Treat yourself (or someone special!) to this elegant French Wine Dinner, hosted by Chef Pascal Dionot.  Chef Dionot will prepare five decadent courses of upscale French fare, paired with wines selected specifically to compliment the food.  All you have to do is come ready to relax and enjoy a night of exciting wines, great food and good cheer!
